The National career fair (6th edition) wasn’t just the best I have attended, it was a career changing experience. Already a month after completion of National service, I was tired of just dreaming about where I wanted to be. So, I attended the NCF “hungry” for career development opportunities.

Yes, I knew what I needed to do was to make the right network. Just as the facilitators speaks in sessions, I noted down their names and areas of professionalism, focusing more on Construction industry. With the intent of meeting them in person towards the end of the fair. Unfortunately I was only able to meet Mrs. Aki Jacqueline and Mr. Sheeju Prabhakaran. I took to social media, followed other facilitators on my list and humbly requested for their e-mail address.

Immediately, I forwarded my CV and already waiting letter stating my skills, core competencies and professional objective, even my design portfolio.

Fortunately, Arc. Tosin Osinowo replied copying me a recommendation letter to a Building Construction firm in Ikoyi. I got an interview invite and I resumed office January as a site Engineer.

Luckily, I was posted to a project involving CMDA (Arc. Tosin). Am currently with this firm and this is my second project (Banana Island) with them, having completed and handed over the first.

Attending the NCF was a turning point in my professional sojourn, the set up is very professional and productive. I am grateful for everything. Thanks
